Tucson is Coming!

In just a few weeks the city of Tucson will be brimming with rock and mineral collectors from all around the world to enjoy the world’s largest, and most fantastic, gem and mineral show you can ever imagine! It is really an exciting time for everyone here in Tucson and I personally have been quietly waiting all year for it to finally get here. I can’t hardly wait to get out and see all the amazing rocks, gems, jewelry, beads, and so much more – and to get to visit with all my wonderful rock collector friends from the U.S. and around the world. I’m sure looking forward to adding a plethora of fabulous new rocks to my already overstuffed shop, house, and yard!

Also, as an added bonus, my two dear Australian friends Darren and Keith will be staying with me for the duration of the shows. We’re going to have tons of fun out shopping, visiting, and going on fossicking (rock collecting) trips around the southwest. I will do my best to try to document most of the festivities here in the blog and to take lots of fun photos to share with everyone, especially the folks who aren’t able to attend the show.

I hope that everyone has a great time at the show, and if you have traveled some distance, that you are safe in your journey here and on your return home.

Agategrrrl Blog

Hello everyone and welcome to my very first blog post!

As many of you know, I am an avid agate collector, overall rockhound, and author of three best-selling books on the world of rock, gem, and mineral collecting. I have just recently overhauled my website to make it more up-to-date and user friendly for all my friends and visitors. I have kept my personal agates gallery open for fun and education, and streamlined my store with original new products and simplified shopping categories.

My intention with this blog is to inform, educate, and share my enthusiasm for beautiful agates and minerals with other collectors and rockhounds. I hope to create something fun and useful for everyone – from seasoned old-timers to brand new collectors and pebble pups. I will be posting as often as I can and I will be available to answer questions as time permits. I plan to cover many topics over time and may periodically include excerpts from my books on specific subjects. I want to show examples of many types of collectible rocks, gems, and minerals and encourage others to share their own personal rocks too – they don’t have to be the most spectacular or expensive rocks, just whatever you personally like to collect for yourself and would like to share with the world. It’s all about the fun and joy of collecting rocks, whatever you reason for collecting them might be.

I hope you enjoy you enjoy the blog and new website – and, as always, ROCK ON!
